Indigenous Peoples & Keystone XL Pipeline — Short Read

The main discussion point of this article is environmental racism and other justice issues indigenous peoples are facing, such as treaty rights issues.

This article reminds me of another I read of the Native American tribes of Lakota and Sioux in the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. They were actually petitioning the State government for letting TransCanada use their reservation for the pipeline and as a shortcut for TransCanada trucks that would save both time and money from bypassing weighing stations.
