I was wondering who was going to post this first! In Spring 2010 Geography 430 traveled to Port Arthur and met with both Juan Parras (in Houston) and Hilton Kelly. At that time, the potential impacts of Keystone XL were poorly understood; initially it seemed that promise of jobs would dampen resistance, but clearly the tactics of environmental blackmail are not as effective as previously thought.
