    Couric’s eye-opening statistics should encourage each of you to learn the most effective way to write an Op-Ed. We all may have well-informed views, new takes on old challenges, or unique perspectives to offer in public debate. But if you cannot express these ideas clearly, effectively, and persuasively, then you cannot participate fully in deliberative debate, a cornerstone of democracy.

    I never understood the true importance of opinionated pieces until I saw this video. It’s not merely about getting one’s voice out, but it’s about participation for everyone of all genders, race, and class.
